Neuroplasticity
New Neural Connections
Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life.
Think of your brain as a dynamic, connected power grid with billions of pathways lighting up when we think, feel or do something. These roads are our habits, established ways of thinking, feeling or doing. When we practice a particular task, think in a certain way, or feel a particular emotion, we strengthen this pathway! It becomes easier for our brains to travel this pathway. When we think about things differently, feel a different emotion, learn a new task, we carve out a new road. When we travel that road more, our brains use this pathway and new ways of thinking, feeling, or doing become second nature. The old pathways get used less and weaken!
